A Leap of Faith: Krizzel Mae’s Journey to the United States

GUEST POST: Krizzel Mae talks through her journey of being a Medical Technologist for MedPro International.

My journey as a Medical Technologist from the Philippines to the United States has been both rewarding and challenging. Moving to a new country and continuing my career in the laboratory required a leap of faith, prayer, patience, courage, and willingness to learn and adapt.

I began my career in the Philippines as soon as I passed my board exam, which was in 2015. I worked at a tertiary hospital where I developed my foundation as a laboratory scientist. I learned the importance of accuracy, compassion, teamwork, and respect.

When I decided to pursue my career in the United States, I knew that the journey would be a tough one. I had to navigate a new healthcare system, adjust to a different work environment, and continue developing my professional knowledge and skills.

Choosing MedPro was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made in helping me to fulfill my American dream. For almost two years of waiting, MedPro was there to guide, support, and encourage me to never lose hope, to keep going because they are amazing on what they do. Everyone was very helpful and responsive. They will update and keep you posted on what’s happening during your application.

There were moments of uncertainty and challenges along the way, but each experience helped me grow both personally and professionally. Being away from your loved ones and living alone are some of the struggles you need to cope with. Nevertheless, you will meet people along the way that feels home. Simply put, the chemistry of belonging.

Starting over taught me to be resilient, to believe more in myself, and to appreciate every opportunity given to me.

Looking back, I am truly grateful for every misdirection in my life because it has led me to where I am now. My experience has reminded me that success does not happen overnight; it is built through hardship, continuous learning, and the courage to keep moving forward.

To my fellow explorers, never lose your spark, your dream, and hope because you will have your chance. Remind yourself that every detour will guide you to the right path with the help of the right people. Be kind to yourself. More importantly, just pray for the best and let God do the rest.

Thank you for my parents, family, and friends for their love and support. It motivates me to keep going. Also, to MedPro for turning this dream into reality.
