“I’m just a simple girl from a small province in the Philippines,” MedPro International Explorer Kathleen Panganiban humbly repeated during her phone interview. Despite having only been in the United States for a year, Kathleen is already maximizing her opportunities. With MedPro International’s unwavering support, Kathleen has transformed her life.
“I’m living my dream as a healthcare professional in Miami,” Kathleen shared, her voice brimming with pride. MedPro guided her through every step of the process, and today, she works as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist in Transfusion Medicine at one of the top facilities in the country.
Her journey began when she saw images of other MedPro Explorers sharing their success stories on social media. Inspired and determined, Kathleen embarked on her path, and now her story is a testament to what can be achieved with dedication and support. “I used to tell myself, ‘Someday I will be like them,’ and now I’m one of them,” she said.
Work-Life Balance
Kathleen first contacted MedPro International in 2017. She had passed the ASCPi but still needed to pass the IELTS and gain more experience. She persevered and was accepted in 2021. A year and eight months later, she flew to the US with her green card. Today, MedPro International continues to be a source of support. “Natacha [Oscar], my Employee Relations Manager, always calls to see how things are going. Anytime, day or night, she is there to help. I never feel alone.”
Kathleen works at a 1500-bed capacity hospital. The work is hard and stressful, but her managers, co-workers, and supervisors are extremely helpful and supportive. “I’m so excited to go to work. I feel like a scientist. Now, I’m doing what I used to study in books. I feel so appreciated.”
Thanks to MedPro, Kathleen said she is finally enjoying a balance between work and her free time and has traveled to different states around the US. “Choosing MedPro is the best decision I’ve ever made.”
Miami
At first, Kathleen was nervous. Coming from her small province to Miami was a huge change. But now, she loves her new home. “Everything is here,” said Kathleen. I go to the beach, shopping, there’s even a Filipino store at Bayside, and I’m just 15 minutes from the airport!” MedPro’s financial seminars have provided great guidance and helped her buy a used car. She’s putting money into savings and sending money back to her parents in the Philippines. Kathleen doesn’t have any immediate family in the US. However, her fiancé lives in Texas, and they plan to marry in Las Vegas.
Dream Fulfilled
Kathleen used to admire the pictures and videos of MedPro Explorers on Facebook and other social media outlets, dreaming of one day posting her own. The Brooklyn Bridge, the Hollywood sign, and Chicago’s Navy Pier—these familiar Explorer destinations would soon become her own.
“I wanted to go to New York City, and I did. I visited the Dumbo and the Brooklyn Bridge, just like in the pictures I had seen,” Kathleen shared with excitement. She has also explored Houston and Universal in Orlando, and in December, she plans to celebrate Christmas in Colorado.
Kathleen’s journey has been enriched by a supportive group of fellow Explorers who all arrived in 2023. “I’m so happy. I want to inspire others. I’m living my best life, and with MedPro International’s help, you can live your best life, too!”
