MedPro International recently hosted Mark Tamayo, President of Perpetual Help Placement Services International, Inc., as part of the company’s annual compliance with the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW). Tamayo’s visit serves as an important touchpoint to ensure that the Explorers’ experiences meet the highest ethical standards, all items stipulated in their contracts are being adhered to, their current assignments are progressing smoothly, and they feel supported, heard, and empowered in their careers. It also allows the Philippine government to check in on the Explorers regularly during their journey and reaffirms MedPro International’s steadfast commitment to compliance and ethical recruitment.

“It’s always a pleasure to welcome Mark to MedPro International’s headquarters and give him an opportunity to speak directly to our Explorers,” said Jennifer Rogenski, Director of International Operations. “Open dialogue and shared experiences are essential to creating the best possible journey for our current and future Explorers.”

This year, Mark met with registered nurses (RNs), medical technologists (MTs), and physical therapists (PTs) from Connecticut. “It’s important to hear from them personally, how they are transitioning into their work and new life as immigrants or workers in a new country,” said Mark. “Getting feedback helps us determine how to help improve their process of bringing candidates to the US and together with MEDPRO how to make their transition as seamless as possible.”

Among those he spoke to was Joselito Sanchez, an ICU RN whose three-year contract with MedPro concludes in April 2025. “I’m extremely satisfied with my time at MedPro,” said Joselito. “Sami, my Employee Relations Manager, is incredibly kind and thoughtful. She always takes the time to ask how she can improve my experience.” Joselito is now transitioning to full-time employment at his current facility. His journey exemplifies the opportunities available for healthcare professionals who take their journey with MedPro.

Beyond their professional successes, Explorers have built a tight-knit community in New Haven. “Connecticut is a beautiful place. My wife and I had always dreamt of seeing snow, and now that dream has come true. And we wanted to experience all four seasons—especially my wife,” said Joselito. During Mark’s visit, the Explorers shared stories of the friendships they’ve formed and the experiences that have made their time in the US so fulfilling. From taking group trips to exploring different cities to seeking out authentic Filipino cuisine, these Explorers have created a home away from home. Their connections go beyond the workplace and provide invaluable support and camaraderie as they adapt and flourish in a new country.

Next Class of U.S. Healthcare Professionals
Mark Tamayo, President of Perpetual Help Placement Services International, Inc., met with Explorers working in South Florida to gain insight into their experiences.

Mark not only met with seasoned Explorers in Connecticut, but he also connected with healthcare professionals in South Florida and those in MedPro orientation who are just beginning their U.S. journey. “Each year, MedPro continues to refine its processes. The feedback I receive is overwhelmingly positive, with candidates expressing deep appreciation for the exceptional care and support they receive. It’s truly gratifying to know that PHPSII and MedPro are excelling in keeping candidates happy and highly satisfied throughout their recruitment and deployment,” said Mark.

This year’s visit was a reminder that MedPro is more than just a staffing agency. Whether helping Explorers like Joselito advance in their careers, fostering strong social connections, or guiding new arrivals through their first steps in the US, MedPro International remains dedicated to empowering our healthcare professionals every step of the way.
