MedPro International nurse Danna Alcudia was recently recognized as the “Employee of the Month” in her ICU unit at a hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Her fellow MedPro ICU colleague sent Danna the good news while she was on vacation. “I didn’t expect it because I feel that there are others who are really deserving as well,” said Danna. The Explorer’s picture was posted with a write-up on her contributions to the unit that read:
“Danna is such a hard worker who always goes above and beyond for our heart patients. Danna is always very attentive to what the patient has going on, and she is quick to intervene and implement orders. She notices small changes in the patients promptly and notifies Dr. Ogle immediately. It is because of this that the patients she cares for have such great outcomes. She keeps on top of the various labs and communicates to the CTS team of any abnormalities as soon as they are obtained. She is truly our ‘superstar.’”
‘Priceless and Rewarding’
Danna’s favorite part of her job is taking care of her patients. “Watching them improve, and knowing my care made a difference for both the patients and their families is priceless and rewarding.” Additionally, she said she felt blessed to be surrounded by great nurses and people who constantly inspire her to become a better nurse and to go above and beyond for their patients.
When not working, Danna loves to travel with her husband locally and to other states. They’re always on the lookout for new activities, foods, and restaurants to try. She also enjoys biking and jogging in nearby parks when the weather is nice, reading books of any genre, and baking. Danna celebrates her third anniversary with the facility and MedPro International this April.
